Early Morning

A fairly early start, after some wonderful early morning massive cuddles meant Katie was at the playdoh well before the crack of dawn. She's not played with her at-home playdoh in a while as she does loads of it at nursery. She also did some beautifully careful colouring in before she had a bath.

She decided this morning that she was going to wear her angel dress, although we did eventually negotiate otherwise as she didnt fancy the accompanying garments that mummy insisted would need to be warn with it on a cold February morning. She chose a skirt, tights and top in the end and we set off for nursery.

When I went back for her, I saw through her room window that she was having a cuddle from Lesley. When I got in the room, Lesley said to me "I just got told off for calling her baby - she was in the toilet and I called to her 'are you done, baby' and she said 'I'm not you're baby, I'm mummy's baby". I like of course that she knows she's my baby, but I also like that Katie's formed an attachment with Lesley that she will have cuddles with her, and that Lesley would call her baby so affectionately. It made me happy. As Lesley told me this, I turned round to Katie and discovered she had taken her skirt off and was dancing round just in tights and her top.

It was a chilly afternoon, so I'd taken the meitai and we both enjoyed snuggles, and the shared body heat. We had a stop to make on the way home, and she wanted to watch Postman Pat collecting the letters from the box to take away in his van. We got in and she took her clothes off immediately and went for the angel dress. Which she fell fast asleep in at just before 6 as I was in the kitchen getting the warm milk she'd asked for.
