First stitch
Give me something to sew and repair and it will sit for months and I won't ever feel like doing it. So, I was filled with absolute fear and panic as I walked in to a room at the back of the craft shop to find 8 other ladies ( who looked more experienced in their years and stitching than me) and the lesson had already begun! Oh no, I am rubbish at sewing and I've missed the instructions ( plus I was nibbling a muffin too - how inappropriate). My friend Helen had booked us on the day course and I'd blindly agreed as it would make a nice day out with my friend.
Any way, despite the teacher being poor, Helen and I had a rather lovely day, working from a photocopied page of example stitches and hardly any instruction at all. We nattered and sewed and the day flew by , we didn't want to stop. Embroidery proved to be rather soothing and incredibly addictive. So here is my finished creation, which I carried on with at home. Quite pleased really, and a new creative outlet discovered.
