New Arrival!
Welcome to our new two-toed sloth Christmas tree decoration! We haven't put the tree up yet, so he will have to hang around in the hall for a bit; but he looks quite happy.
Today was one of those days that went better than planned. To be honest we didn't have a plan in the morning; and it was a surprise when the postman knocked on the door. It was a parcel from Chester Zoo containing a few items for Christmas, including the decoration. It had taken two weeks by Royal Mail to get to us, and I had almost forgotten about it.
There were also three posters of the big cats at the zoo; and true to the expression "You never have to leave Wantage!" I found the best place for ready-made frames was the local art shop; Dolphin Gallery.
In the evening I made a new recipe from one of the books I had been given earlier in the year; Lapin a la Moutarde, a traditional braised rabbit recipe that is enjoyed by families all over France (extra photo). However rabbit was not an option, so I made it turkey breasts. It had a good flavour, with a nice balance of two different mustards.
