Fading Flowers

I was looking around the house just before heading out to Booths, this evening, to see what else I might need to buy, when these forlorn fellows caught my eye.

I bought fresh flowers, of course, but these very much had a beauty of their own. When the time came to put them in the bin I felt bad throwing them away.

(Incidentally, my blip title is a nod to Shriekback's 'Faded Flowers', a song from their 1985 LP 'Oil and Gold'. The album deserved to be far more successful than it actually was - i.e. not very - and I still love it thirty-five years on. Click here to here Shriekback playing it at one of their regrettably very rare gigs.)
