Jewels..
... It looks for all the world as though I've cranked up the vibrancy on this one, but I haven't done anything except crop. The late sun shone for a few moments lighting up everything with an orange tone and there was the kingfisher! It didn't sit still for long enough for me to get a really clear capture, but I'm still so overjoyed every time I see it. I swear it's magical.
So.
I've experienced the sublime and now I need to get down to writing some cards.
As I sit at the kitchen table I'm enveloped in the lovely aroma of fruit soaking in brandy (and lime zest, which is a little unusual perhaps but my lemons had gorn orf, and I thought 'why not'? It's still citrus isn't it?). I found a 'late' Christmas cake recipe, so that's the reason for all of the fragrance. Soon the baking will commence too. (More procrastination!).
Hums.. 'It's beginning to feel a bit' (but not a lot) 'like Christmas'.
The wine forecast is looking wildly 'brandy cocktailish'; there's a dreg of spirit left from the cake and (obviously) it's important to crack on with getting the bottle recycled*. (Note to self: Don't write a single card if you have a drink beside you. No one needs an over chatty Christmas card).
*Feed the cake! Oh yeahhh...
I'm sorry.
I'm too invested in the notion of a cocktail now :-)
