Iris
Whilst buying some iris bulbs at the garden centre I found a folding plant cloche made from a muslin type material which looked as though it would make a small portable light tent. At only £7 it was worth the experiment.
I cut a hole in one side of the cloche for the lens to go through and positioned it near the window with a white card as a reflector on the opposite side of the flower heads. The background was one of a set of plastic food cutting mats of various colours from a hardware store, cost £5.
Add a couple of LED torches and you could have yourself a very cheap set up for macro and close up work.
