Christmas Decorations.
We have finally succumbed to the "Christmas fever" which seems to be sweeping the country. As a child our house celebrated the 12 days of Christmas plus one. The decorations went up on Christmas Eve and came down a day after 12 night. Why the extra day you are wondering? Well it was my mother's birthday and of course she wanted the house to look festive. She also used to say the "Old Folk" would leave the Holly (used a lot in decoration when I was young) up until "Pancake Day" when it would be very dry and ensure a good hot fire.
With regard to Christmas we will not be rushing the length of the country to meet people, it just isn't sensible. For the first time since #2 daughter was in her teens she took over the cooking we will be making our own Christmas dinner. More recently we have all met at her sisters in Sheffield. However for Katkatkat in Scotland travel to a tier 3 in England is a No no and for us going from an area of very low infection to a tier 3 and then risk bringing infection back just isn't sensible.
