Reed Buntings
This morning Mrs GOG had gone shopping and I was pottering about in the kitchen getting me a coffee and examining a very old Fuji FinePix camera, which I had just knocked down and thought that I had broken. In fact upon checking it, it worked fine and looking up out of the kitchen window I saw a male and a female Reed Bunting feeding on opposite sides of the bird feeder. I had no time to get a different camera so I used the one to hand, hence the poor quality of this picture.
I first posted a picture, which I thought was the female, but looking at the pictures on a higher resolution monitor with increased contrast I discovered the female hiding in the background on this particular picture. I am now posting a picture of the male on the right and the female on the left, which has had the contrast enhanced.
I tried to get other pictures of them both together, but the delay on the shutter on this ancient Fuji is so long between pressing the button and it taking the picture that the picture you get is not what you have seen. This picture is not particularly sharp or of good contrast, but it does show both birds.
