Dessert in the Desert!

Very relaxed day with a service this morning, a light lunch and a wee rest before deciding to head out and join with the worship group in the desert.

Unfortunately en-route GK's car decided to overheat so we needed to administer first aid and fill up the radiator, hoping that was all the problem was!

Once at our destination....(much later than anticipated), we began the hike across the sand. Climbing up and over the dunes, we understood more and more with each step, how difficult it must be for animals....(and us humans)....who are not totally fitted out with ski pad feet, to traverse such desert terrain!

After managing three "mountains," although we could hear the music....we seemed to be getting no closer to seeing it....and as my energy levels waxed and waned with every step.. we decided it would be prudent just to turn back, having enjoyed the songs from afar.

Had we arrived in time...there would have been a four wheel drive pick up service ferrying people out to the site, but we now know what it's like to miss the last bus!!

The desert was amazing though...it was a full moon and the stars were still visible...Orion and the Great Plough....all out in full splendour, and it was cold!!!! Even heard the owl!

Wouldn't have missed it for the world!

This is me with the water supply......never leave home without it!!! Dessert was in my pocket and half the desert in my shoes!!
