Change of Scenery

The view from our front door for the next three mornings!!!

Fed up of running out of electricity and all the rest, booked three nights in a tiny, and I mean tiny, houseboat in the marina at Albufeira. Reminds me of the old Yiddish tale about a man who complained his house was too small; a wise old woman told him to take all his animals, successively, into it. When he complained that made it worse, he was told to take all the animals out, and suddenly discovered his house was amazingly roomy. I think our house will feel huge after this. And very solid - this one sways whenever one of us walks around.

Plenty of rain on the way down, but the sun appeared as we arrived. And there is electricity! And water front and back. And walks to be had. I am hugely grateful, we so needed this.

And for these as well:
- safety getting here, almost gave up when I saw how windy it was in the night (trees coming down), but it got calmer
- being somewhere so different - we just went for a snack in "Jack's Irish Pub" - with music by such as Madonna and Kylie Minogue - you can't believe the change from where we live!
- the prospect of seeing the sea tomorrow
