2020 in one ornament
I recently saw this advertised online and knew right away that it needed to be added to my collection of Christmas ornaments. Because, even in the midst of the fear and the sadness and the uncertainty, there is also humor. Really, will any of us ever forget the mad scramble for toilet paper/loo rolls earlier this year? Or the empty shelves where Hand Sanitizer once lived? Granted, not as funny as, say, the Three Stooges...but still strangely funny.
My plans to head out and snap birds in snow fizzled. It was a gorgeous sunny day, but sun on a snowy background is a challenge I didn't want to tackle today. Instead, I did some needed housework, shoveled a bit more outside, chatted with a few friends on the phone, and made no-knead bread dough.
We just learned that there is an emergency Zoom meeting with the Director of MIL's care facility and all the resident families this afternoon. Usually this would only mean something bad, but I am hoping that maybe the call is to announce word on vaccines for the residents. Let's hope.
And Zoom cocktails with my bestie this evening, which is always fun (plus it means that Hubs is in charge of dinner.)
Stay safe, be kind, try to find something to laugh about. And don't forget the chocolate...

PS: the situation at MIL’s care facility is that they are having a major outbreak in one community and are putting the entire facility under strict lockdown. The outbreak is NOT in MIL’s community but is under the same roof.
