Christmas Shopping
On the day that Christmas was effectively cancelled. It can't have been an easy call, but respect for the government - on this occasion - for facing up to reality, albeit a week or so too late. They can't really win in this situation. Neither can we. At least it's going to make the decision-making process for families slightly more straightforward. We won't be having to navigate quite such a complex moral maze, not that the problems go away, of course. For most people, it will become a case of balancing what's legally permitted against what is reasonable and responsible behaviour as dictated by individual circumstances. That's still a tricky equation to solve.
