Traditional orchard in Tenterden
Viewed a property in Headcorn this morning. Nice house, right accommodation, ready to occupy, recently completely refurbished. What was not to like? It wasn’t Tenterden, the garden faced north east and was small and all the windows and doors, soffits etc were wood which would need regular maintenance.
On then to Tenterden to collect coffee, scone and lunch, the coffee and scone we consumed in the churchyard leaving the remainder to be eaten overlooking Tenterden cricket ground.
Our walk took us past the site of a new build estate we like the look of to see where the house we fancy is actually sited. Encouraging. We stopped to talk to a couple who I know from the railway who were very helpful. The house site was a hole in the ground filled with water. It’s difficult to imagine what it would be like completed and surrounded by other properties.
The walk was great in the late afternoon winter sunshine, passing old traditional orchards and overlooking the high Weald and the railway. Brilliant!
Then two large flies! When we arrived home I discovered I’d forgotten to put bag with all the ice cream in back into freezer after I’d sorted it. Result, 6 melted magnums, a vienetta and tubs of vanilla and chocolate ice cream. Argh.....
Then we learn we’re now in tier 4. So all plans out of the window. Just the three of us as we’d suspected would be the case. As others have said, a lack of decisive leadership and leaving decisions until too late. We did enjoy an Indian meal from Marks and Sparks before watching Kate Rusby’s concert again. Not so satisfactorily as last week as the video would not fill the full screen. I know not why yet.
Today’s blip is of that orchard, with extras of the railway and from along the walk.
