The Barn Church- Kew

Lockdown 3 Day 1 - cycled to Kew and to some of the churches there. The Barn Church, St Anne’s on Kew Green and St Winifredes R.C. The Barn Church is so called as it was the first church in England to be built from a barn. The timbers come from a 17th century barn in Oxted, Surrey. When the timbers were dismantled and moved to Kew in 1929 they were numbered and reassembled to create a long nave.
There was a service with singing going on inside the Barn Church but nothing on or scheduled in the other two
