Life In Wales

Reunited!

We left mum’s this morning to go to the Airbnb, and stopped off at Rachel’s on the way to pick up some of our food from her fridge.

The girls were surprised to see us as Rach hadn’t told them we were coming, but they couldn’t understand why we couldn’t go in the house and asked why, we just said because of Covid and they understood. It’s amazing how young children have adapted to this pandemic. Anyway we said they could go and sit in Bertie Bus with the doors open so they could see the boys. I love how they both have a favourite and each has their ‘own’ dog.

Rach said she didn’t send the girls to their dance classes at the weekend, to isolate them in readiness for seeing us and mum on Christmas Day. It turned out to be a good call as she received an email today to say that someone in Scarlett’s dance class has tested positive, so now anyone that was there on Saturday has to isolate for 10 days.

We arrived at the Airbnb about 1.30pm, and it’s lovely, such a good find! It’s the annex of the owner’s property, set in 2.5 acres of land with a gate out onto the Bridgewater Canal. Tomorrow we’ll go and explore, but once we’d unpacked snd settled in we opened a bottle of Malbec and relaxed in front of the fire with cheese and tapas.

Apologies for the lack of comments, it’s going to be difficult to keep up over the next few days.

As for Covid, the news isn’t good, 40 countries have banned arrivals from the U.K., and this new strain of the virus is spreading rapidly, so I think Boris needs to announce a strict national lockdown, and it wouldn’t surprise me if this happens straight after Christmas.
