My new secret weapon
I was reading the suggested training plan for the 5km swim and it listed the following items as part of your kit:
Costume
Goggles
Hat (if required)
Drink
Energy bar
It was the last one that caught my interest as the others are kind of obvious. Apparantly munching on something delicious after training is not sinful but essential.
Well I didn't need to be asked twice. I've no idea what an energy bar looks like so I opted for hob nobs with raisins and chocolate. I'm sure they are like an energy bar and who cares if not - the placebo effect will work regardless.
Swimming tomorrow. I expect to be able to run all the way home from the pool after eating my hob nob energy bar :-)
