Day 274 Festive and red

Today our Mono Monday host carolinav, asked us to create a mono in shades of red with a festive theme.  I haven't really fulfilled the festive bit as these are just berries on a shrub on the patio but I've done my best with the red tones.
My extra is of Violet who today decorated the gingerbread men biscuits that she made with her aunty yesterday.  I could only get white chocolate to pipe with  but they've worked well and frankly taste rather nicer than the usual white icing.  Yes she is wearing pyjamas but as she explained when we asked if she wanted to get dressed, they're festive and comfy so she rather keep them on.  She even wore them when grandpa took her out for a short car ride to view some of the local brightly lit houses, with a coat and slippers of course!

In other news: France has decided to shut its borders to the UK for 48 hours, allegedly because of the mutant strain of Covid-19 that has been detected here.  Awful news for the drivers of 1500 lorry drivers stuck, many of whom are from EU countries, making their final journey home for Christmas
