Bare Branches

A day off before going back to work up to Christmas Day.  For once I picked a good day's weather to join L up at the stables for a walk across Cannock Chase.

Very few trees have even the last vestiges of leaves hanging on.  It's a time when the patterns of branches stand out.  I was using a 10 shot multi, in camera to soften the background but decided to experiment by using the 'Darken' overlay mode.  You can compare the result with using the AVG mode in the extra.

We ended our time out with hot sandwiches from the local cafe on the Chase.
