MrQ, Ollie dog and I had a restful day, which is very unusual. We even sat down to an elegant champagne breakfast together, which is unheard of. I'm usually too busy to have breakfast on Christmas Day. We missed the fun of being with the family but did catch up with our son and daughter on FaceTime.

When Ollie and I went for a late afternoon walk the light was beautiful. I photographed this charm of goldfinches on an oak by the brook to the south of our property.
