Monster Tree

Beautiful summer day + weekend + birthday = going bush ;)
Went on a great bush walk with soooo many beautiful things to see but the most spectacular sight was this giant Kauri tree. Approx 1,000 years old, the trunk looks like a wooden wall! Absolutely HUGE!!! I'd think that this is the largest one in the Kaimai Ranges, our local hiking 'playground'.
