Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

I wish I was a swan...

As I watched AM this morning in my jammies, the snow was falling so thick and fast, it looked like one of those snow ball thingies with a wee scene inside. But by the time I was out of my jammies and dressed, it had melted. Mind you, it did take me three hours to get out of my jammies and dressed...

I have had a poke around Mr Tivo and discovered, away in the depths of his settings, where I can turn off his 'suggestions' and stop him recording them willy-nilly. I mean - just because I watch Graham Norton does NOT mean I want Mr Tivo to record every episode of Jonathon Ross! How presumptuous. Anyway. That's him sorted. No more funny business.

I spent the morning confirming our second house swap in the summer, after Copenhagen. It's a place we've always wanted to go to, a complete change from the city breaks - it's a wee cottage right by the sea, near Galway! We're so excited. The lady is an artist, and her daughter is performing at the Edinburgh Festival.

I popped out for a quick blip in the sunshine, back to the pond. Without any bread, but on Sundays it's a constant flow of people feeding the birds. A bit like a sushi bar, for the the birds, really. But without the choice.

I got this shot of the wee tufted duck, looking longingly at the big beautiful swan. Possibly.

JR is off out to get some euros before the £ collapses tomorrow. I'm ready for the rugby. Let's hope I'll be able to shout, 'Result!' as I did yesterday.

EDIT: RESULT!
