Happy Hogmanay!

Finally the last day of the most surreal year in my lifetime. I’m sure most people concur. It will sure take some beating.

We got a puppy in Feb very quickly followed by a new house which was scheduled to be ready in June. Then COVID picked up some global traction and we entered a period of national lockdown in March.

We all spent close to 3 months isolated to our gardens or out for an hours exercise or to the shops for essential goods.

We were all working from home and the kids were home schooled. All sports clubs and events like Parkrun were postponed.

We were prevented from seeing close family members and were unable to attend weddings and funerals (unless immediate family).

After a period of hope we reentered lockdown but this time different parts of the uk had different tier ratings.

I got a new job with my company which starts officially in Jan 2021.

We got to spend Christmas with family for one day only. Summer/Family holidays were cancelled or postponed (we were meant to be at Disney World Florida in June).

We can’t and shouldn’t complain though as lots of people have it far worse than us. I can imagine the older generations that lived through WW2 for example will have had a far worse experience.

Here poor Heidi is subjected to puppy nappies as she’s in season. I think she’s giving a dirty look here like ‘why daddy why?’

Here’s a toast to the New Year and let’s hope 2021 is a much better year than 2020.

Slainte everyone and good health.
