Amish Butcher
This is a bit of a Nat Geo post. Today we took the two bad-boy roosters to a nearby Amish butcher. This was a first for us and quite a learning experience. Our neighbor told us about the farm ("down past the school, between the white barn and the green roof one - at the end of the road.") It turned out that, since tomorrow is a holiday, the butcher had his meat market open, complete with a skinned bull hung up behind his table. We came home with two chickens and a fresh cut bull tenderloin.
When we got home, we found our son prepping two Canada geese out by the barn. He was getting them ready for New Year's Day dinner.
Happy New Year's Eve!
