NYE
Headed to the market for last minute supplies. The city council have decided to close the open air market as last week too many selfish people weren't behaving sensibly. The city-employed marshals also were not marshalling. This means shoppers and traders lose out. Today on New year's eve the market only had shoppers maintaining social distancing, wearing masks, shopping and leaving the market - see extra. Despite emails, tweets, messages the council fenced off the market. Instead they seem to ignore the non-distancing queues outside cafes, takeaways and the 2 small supermarkets. Seems they consider the outdoor market as more dangerous than the supermarkets. Opposition LibDems are trying to overturn this ridiculous decision.
Local, national and international events render optimism elusive today.
I wish YOU all a pleasant evening saying good riddance to 2020 and stay safe.
