Green shoots twisted hazel
I hadn’t intended this to be today’s blip until I noticed the green shoots, and it seemed appropriate. Pollok park was mobbed at midday, there was even an ice cream van and I was pleased I had decided to wear my mask. Apart from the obvious mitigation it’s cosy to wear and prevents a flare up of sore lips, a legacy of a long cold and windy walk in Prague a couple of years ago when there was some problem with the tram system and we ended up walking a very long way from a tram terminus back to the city centre, at the time it seemed marginally preferable to waiting for the fault to be rectified.Sadly no such challenges in 2020.
Family virtual NY catch ups, roast poussin followed by home made (James Morton recipe) Mille Feuille for a late lunch/supper, and another listen to Mike Russell’s passionate, erudite speech on the Brexit folly. Thus far 2021 feels defined by what we have lost, and I’m not sure how I can reframe that, yet.
