Happy New Year!
Back blipped 02.01.21
Never has the greeting Happy New Year been so sincerely meant! May 2021 be a much happier year for all of us!
Despite the lack of family and friends being here and n person, we made the most of the final hours of 2020 and the first hours of 2021.
Alan was in fine firm after our concerns earlier and opted to stay up for the bells. When the witching hour struck we were FaceTiming with Ele, Kenny and Jennifer, which was lovely. Next best thing to them being here.
Alan opted to go to bed at 12.30 and we continued FaceTiming with Ele and Kenny till 1.30ish before cuddling on the sofa with Lola and watching the amazing three parts of Fare Well - Edinburgh’s Hogmanay.
We had a bit of a lie in (some longer than others ie me :-) David headed to the moor with Lola. On the way back he stopped for the annual obligatory ne’erday pose at the entrance to Gleneagles. It’s become a bit of a tradition that our Hogmanay guests go for a Ne’erday walk and take a selfie at Gleneagles, whilst I stay home snd prepare the full Scottish breakfast for their return. We all felt it important that the ritual should carry on , even if it was just David and Lola this year. Hopefully all the gang will be here next year.
After a late breakfast we skipped lunch and went straight to dinner followed by a lazy evening watching The Crown from the start. It must be good because D stayed awake for the three episodes we watched!
And great excitement as my new phone has arrived. My old phone had been backed up so the switch to the new phone can now take place. Looking forward to trying out the camera.
Hope you’ve all had a safe and enjoyable start to the New Year :-)
