Against The Elements
One advantage of a long telephoto is the substantial lens hood, which in today's quite heavy snowfall served to shield the front element. Another is its weather resistant rating, although I still made use of a plastic bag when not shooting.
Falling snow helped to soften the distant trees in this image and, together with the telephoto effect, isolated the withered plant, still standing despite the conditions.
At 1/50 I managed to get some diagonal streaks of snow against the darker trees and grass, showing the strength of the wind.
Now I have 100 extras again, I will have to be more rigorous about my selection for a post. I had become quite blasé whilst using up last year's.
