New shoots?
Last year we planted teasel seeds as we had read that the birds really liked the seedheads. Unfortunately we didn't do our research so were alarmed with how big they grew (they had been put near the front of a border near the house) and how vicious their thorns were. So as the seedheads dried, I cut them down and moved them to the back of the garden so that the birds could enjoy the benefits with little danger of reseeding in our border again.
It looks like the birds are unimpressed because if I'm not very much mistaken, the seeds are germinating in the seedheads!!! Ah well, best laid plans.
