Climbing up the lamp post

Nature will find a way, and this lamp post looks rather surprised!
We were lucky to see the sun briefly today and we took advantage of it to walk along what is usually a very quiet country road close to us. So much traffic - I said to G that I think more cars passed us today than the total number that have passed us in the many years we've been walking that road! Something must have been happening, a party or a gathering. 
I tried to get rid of the fringing on the branches with no success. Any tips would be great!
