Shrew

Whilst having our picnic lunch at the side of the slopes today this little creature was wandering around our feet. I managed to get a few shots with the iPhone on burst mode despite the fact that he was constantly on the move.

Yesterday when we were having lunch, three snow buntings were hovering around looking for scraps. Perhaps the local wildlife is going to have an easier winter with the restaurants being closed and people eating outside.

Thé extra shows the moment when part of the glacier above the ski piste broke away. There was a loud crack and we looked up to see falling ice and powdery snow In the distance (see the left side of the photo). Yet another example of how global warming is affecting the glaciers in the Alps.
