Beauty in the Bleak
I heard that the sun was shining only a few miles away. I went out looking for it but was rewarded for my considerable efforts with just a momentary glimpse of a dull white orb. Perhaps I should have left earlier but it looked way too cold outside and I was tucked up cosily in bed with 'Shuggie Bain', not a cosy read but a devastatingly fine one.
At a time when the world is in the grip of a pandemic and the events of yesterday in the US can leave us in no doubt about the grip still held by endemic racism, a reminder today that when everything seems bleak there is always the opportunity for good things to flourish. Each one of us has a responsibility to keep planting seeds.
