Frozen canal

I'm a bit worried about the local kingfisher-in-residence, so I looked a few things up today. Winter is not terribly good news for them, espacially if their territory freezes over. S/he has either got to stick it out, or go elsewhere. The trouble with elsewhere, like a river, is that it may already be someone else's territory. It looks like a big thaw tomorrow so I hope the chap or chapess holds on
