Today looked set to have the last of the good weather, so I got up promptly and took a lot of pleasing photos as the sun came up. However, this one is special because the time of the sunrise placed it pretty much in line with the axis of the Ramsay Obelisk. In the opposite direction the snowy Pentlands were nicely lit by the rising sun [see extra]. Down in the Estate, after a night below -5C, just the river North Esk remained unfrozen.
Afterwards, I dropped A and her friend off at the start of their walk - no scope for parking - and later accompanied K on some driving practice in Musselburgh (where she'll take her test). She then got her first experience of driving in (a very quiet) central Edinburgh, as we parked at George Square to have a wee walk and a chat in the Meadows with M. An efficient afternoon was rounded off by grocery shopping at Cameron Toll, and a visit to Mum.
