the last of it
The cold weather has gone (for now) and snow and ice are quickly disappearing as the temperatures rise. This photo shows the last of the ice in the small burn which runs past our house. The oak tree is magnificent, too.
Joanna and I enjoyed a local walk around the fields around our house. We managed to cover three miles, with a stop for tea and banana loaf. I was too busy talking to take photos!
My first extra shows an icy artwork which D put outside today. The ice came out of a bucket and has leaves embedded in it. As the ice melts, they will descend onto the paper and make their own marks. Time will tell..
The second extra shows an interesting fungus I discovered on my woodland walk this afternoon - it is called Stereum Hirsutum, or false turkey tail.
