Libby’s Daily Diary.
Libby made herself a diary when they arrived to stay here precipitously last Thursday. She wanted to record her days.
Then each evening we have to write our comments about the day, as she asks the question “What did you like today?”
We are having to “learn” cursive writing as the script we learned years ago was not the one her school teaches.
She pronounced that Grandad’s writing is “improving”. Made me smile.
Another packed day.
After lunch we all played Uno whilst sitting at the dining table. Lots of fun!
I was tired by then as Bonnie had a disturbed night which woke up one of the others.
I was downstairs at 3.00am making myself a cup of tea, after everything had settled again.
It was all quiet once more..
I went up to bed for an hour and a half mid afternoon for a rest, before I cooked the evening meal.
We decided to give the children their tea first and then the four of us adults could sit down and eat dinner later. This has been lovely the past two nights.....plus some nice wine.
Once the children were all ready for bed after two had showers and the others a bath, it was story time for the older three.
All is calm just now at 9.30 pm. So we’re both hoping to get in some sleep in order to recharge our batteries once again.
Home schooling begins again in the morning. Their school has been very supportive of them being here and the class teacher is posting some stuff up here, ( in addition to their internet sessions).
A plan of campaign has been worked out by their parents after dinner.
Sorry if I’m late with comments. I’ll catch up eventually!
Stephen had also bought the three older kids a chef’s hat and apron set before they came up here. As they like baking with him.
Hence the reference in the diary entry in the photo.
