Little one
I shall watch you
As you grow
From child
To one who carries
The seed
To one
Who awaits the love of the sun
Who feels
The freedom of the wind
The stricture
Of the cold and ice
I shall stand
At your side
Proud and tall
'Till such time
That age bows my back
And I kneel
With grace and pleasure
At your feet
Acknowledging
My replacement
My new Queen
The mother of my grandchildren
She who carries
The generation to come
Till then
