Water Junction
Our daily exercise took us along to, and through, Craiglockhart Dell today - you can see just how full The Water of Leith was in the 1st extra; with the 2nd extra showing the external of Redhall Walled Garden ...
... but, the main snap shows the The Water of Leith flowing below, with one of the Slateford Aqueduct arches some 75-feet above - there are eight arches in total, and they carry the Union Canal along for some 500-feet. You can also see a sizeable viaduct behind, which carries the Edinburgh-Shotts-Glasgow railway line over the river!
It really is a wonderful 'junction' of two ribbons of water, both of which run right across Edinburgh, and both with footpaths/towpaths for their complete lengths - and it's one of my favourite spots in the City :-)
