Moss

The topic for today in my nature book is moss.  In particular moss on trees.  As we were taking a walk this afternoon I spotted this tree with a fine example of moss on one side.  Moss only grows on the north side of trees, handy if you're ever lost in a forest!

On close inspection I saw this piece of rope tied to a branch.  So tiny moss, tiny rope, ideal for today's Tiny Tuesday hosted by loisbiz.  A larger view of the tree is given in the extras.
