Upton Warren
We had read about a nature reserve near Bromsgrove and wondered why we'd never been there. So today we went to the Christopher Cadbury Wetland Reserve and spent a very nice time there. It is run by Worcestershire Wildlife Trust so as members of Warwickshire Wildlife Trust we had free access, normally £3. There is a very good cafe on the bankside of one of the lakes with a balcony, with tables, overlooking the water. We had a nice lunch there before heading into the reserve where we visited a couple of the hides. There were not a lot of birds there, I guess it's the wrong time of year, and most of them were at the other side of the lakes. At one point whilst we were in the hide a large flock of lapwing flew over and performed aerobatics before heading off. The weather was sunny and dry, an ideal day for discovering a new destination.
The theme for today's Wide Wednesday hosted by BobsBlips is Black and White, so here is one of the photos I took of the flypast by the lapwings.
