River Dee

Today's the day ……………………. to glide

This picture was taken at about 9.30 am this morning and as you can see, it was still a very cold and frosty start to the day.  This is a wooden footbridge that carries the path over a little stream running into the River Dee. 

There was hardly a breath of wind to ruffle the surface of the river as it glided its way into Kirkcudbright.  The trees and fields were reflected in the water - but the colours were all very muted (see extra).

And the temperature only rose by a couple of degrees throughout the rest of the short day - before the sun disappeared again behind the hill ………………….
