Home schooling
9.15am - and this is what home schooling was looking like as I walked into the kitchen... it's not all quietly sat at the table (that seems pretty hard to achieve in reality!)
Turned out to be a good day of schooling - the eldest is a dream to teach maths and really enjoys it, to the point I look forward to the maths sessions. The youngest had online maths and 'topic' which seemed to involve talking about what clothes you should wear in winter, ironic given getting him into a coat is almost impossible.
They were bouncing off the walls by mid-afternoon and despite claiming they were 'too tired' to go out, both of them ran to the park, ran to another park and then on to a third. A more sedate walk home, complete with the youngest falling off the kerb, getting up and stating he'd fallen over, then showing me a rather grazed knee when we got home (no tears, no fuss).
Husband and I realised at our dinner time that we'd forgotten to give the dog his lunch, he was remarkably well behaved considering (dinner has been served to the dog and he'll get a top-up later to try and make up for our failing).
Today I'm grateful for:
A good conference call this morning, not that I was delighted to do work, but everyone on the call was really collaborative, positive and helpful, which was refreshing
Home schooling - I don't love it, I'm desperate for the schools to be open again, but it's also doing us a lot of good to muddle through and for me to help the boys learn
The eldest's teacher - he works so hard for her and she really is an excellent teacher (with about as much energy as our dog, which is impressive)
