New gate day 2
So after a hearty waffle breakfast, I made an early start and got the wooden posts back on the wall with new fixings directly into the brickwork this time. It was so cold that I had to use the heat gun to actually dry patches of paint that were still wet from yesterday! And then the fun began...started stripping the various layers of paint off the gate and it soon became apparent that it was going to take days to do and working around the curves was a nightmare so after a cuppa and a scratch of the head I got my pressure washer out and attached the power head to it and went for it on the gate. A few hours later and completely soaked through and freezing I had blasted off all the paint and it had worked really well. Brought it inside to dry to be painted later. After bacon and brie bagels for lunch we headed up to Caths for the afternoon and had a good time chilling out with her in her lounge. Got home about 18:30 for eat-ups tea and then spent the evening painting the gate in 'Wild Thyme' Hammerite paint. Absolutely stank the house out, so not in Amy's good books!
