Pond life

Took a look at one of our local ponds today and found the freshest greenery to be had on such a grey day - the floating Duckweed. Although the air was still quite cold, the pond was free of ice and the water was full of activity. With a hand lens I could see tiny worms, Daphnia and Cyclops species all darting around - I need to get that microscope working. Surely there will be frogspawn soon.
