Night mode

An experiment with the night mode setting on my new iPhone, taken just outside our back door.. This picture was taken in almost total darkness.  The only light sources were a faint glow of street lights about 100 yards away - beyond the neighbouring houses - and a little escape of light through the slats in our blinds.  The two faint diagonal lines on the grass are caused by strips of light between the blinds. 

I am not entirely sure how it works but I think it is produced by taking a number of shots in a 3 second burst and then somehow merging them in the camera's software.  I have cropped and straightened the image but not added any brightness or other light effects in post-processing.

More experiments required.
