Isle of Avalon?
We wanted to get out and enjoy yesterday’s snow this morning so set off as the sun was colouring the sky just after 8.00am
We went up the Goit Stock valley, quite tricky as slush on the slush on the road was frozen and crusty.
Made it up to the waterfall and although we were aware the sun was up the valley remains in the shade at this time of year when the sun is low in the sky.
We returned via Leech Lane where the sun and blue sky made everything magical. The sheep were all huddled under one tree just as they do when it’s hit in the summer. There were geese flying over which I love to hear but the most noticeable thing was Baildon Moor, across the Aire Valley, peeking out above the cloud inversion in the valley bottom. Thought thus quite unusual so made it my blip.
On my iPad the local forecast says 1 degree and fog. Well that fig has crept up the valley and in the last half an hours the sun and the trees of the St Ives estate have disappeared and we now have freezing fog. Glad we got out earlier.
Going to try fish and chips tonight take away from our village pub. Heard they are good but last time we tried on a Saturday and were told Saturday is Pizza night. Out son will collect them and bring them down.
Have a good, safe weekend everyone
More snow picks here ( Half way down pge 2 and pge 3 of the album)
