Smoke on the water...

.....fire in the sky, the title of a well known song from the rock band Deep Purple, if your old enough to remember them! I was reminded of the song watching the mountain opposite us burning, the fire and smoke being reflected in the lake. Today was the sunniest day in a long time but the air smelt acrid and full of smoke, there were so many fires around. Ironic that one can be prosecuted for having a garden bonfire but vast areas of mountain can be burnt creating so much pollution and nothing is done about it. Part of the problem is it is very difficult to prove who started any of these fires. Having planted nearly a thousand trees two years ago I am very concerned that someone will set fire to the mountain adjacent to our land.
