Shorts in Snow
One of our posties wears shorts regardless of the weather, even today in the snow. We got less snow than forecast, although it did carry on until early afternoon. I've attached an Extra of four photos of my walk this morning. Thank goodness it wasn't this weather yesterday when my furniture was delivered.
Day 307 / Day 12 of Lockdown 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 1,295 to 88,590 (revised basis), with 41.346 new cases (varying a lot), 37,475 patients in hospital (a new record), 3,789 on ventilation and 4,532 new admissions (a new record). 3.6m have now received their first dose of the vaccine. India has started their vaccine rollout, aiming to give 300m jabs by August. Medical bodies are concerned over unclear protection for doctors and nurses should they be prosecuted over treatment decisions made whilst under the immense pressures of the pandemic. There are some reports by doctors that people in hospital are younger and sicker than in the first wave, but others looking at the data are saying it's not the case, it's just that they're more visible due to the record number of people in hospital. Police in Norfolk said they'd consider fining drivers involved in crashes if they were travelling for non-essential reasons (collisions today due to the snow).
