Mrs Evil Goat

Casa Batllo

After breakfast we set off to find Gaudi's house of bones - one of the most bizarre buildings I think I have ever been in. The whole building looks fluid, like it's moving and every minute detail has been painstakingly crafted - from the handles on the window that mould into your fingers to the light pillar in the centre of the building which is tiled in blue all the way down, starting with darkest blues at the top, closer to the roof lights, to almost white at the base where there is less light so the colour is even all the way down. This light shaft in the centre of the building ensures that there is natural light coming into all the rooms in the house.

This photo was taken on the roof but one of my favourite places in the house was the loft space - everything was so light and airy in there because of the way it had been desgined and even though it was touristy and lots of people were looking round, it felt so peaceful up there.

Tonight was another messy one. We found a little 'local' restaurant which was reasurringly busy. The waiters were fab but the food was awful. Two people rather foolishly ordered 'Meat Stew' and it had all kinds of wierd intestinal looking items on there along with a pigs ear. Hideous! I enjoyed my prawns though. The waiter made up for it bringing us lots of sangria followed by lashngs of Grappa, one of the most disgusting drinks I think I have ever tasted. Adele had about 4 glasses and made it 200m down the round before puking on the street. The night kind of degerated from there, until there were about six hardcore drinkers left. I was surviving (just) on pro-plus.

We attempted to talk our way drunkenly into a dodgy strip club - God knows what we thought we were going to do in there if we had been successful. But luckily it was too pricey and they wouldn't let us in for free. So we found another club where we danced till 5.30am. Fantastico.
