Lockdown groove

Dan and Abi went down for tea with their mum on Tuesday. After mentioning that she'd been feeling grotty since Sunday and that she'd lost her sense of smell and taste, Dan and Abi encouraged her to get a test, which she did yesterday morning. Today, we found out that it had come back positive.

I have to say that test and trace worked, and Dan received a text almost immediately telling him to self-isolate. As Abi is under eighteen, I had to speak to them. (They asked for so much additional information that I was left wondering why it's only useful to collect that from under-eighteens.)

This is Abi's second session of self-isolation after a classmate tested positive last year. Now, as then, despite living with Abi, I'm not required to self-isolate, although, once again, I will limit going out to shopping and running.

Thankfully, as we're in lockdown, not that much changes for them - they aren't missing out on anything - and I have to say that for the last couple of weeks the atmosphere in the house has been upbeat to the point of being fun. We seem to have found our lockdown groove.
