Across the icy....

waste of Strathspey to the snow covered Ben Rinnes from the ridge this morning, Took longer that usual to get up here as the tracks are still glaciers , so progress has to be off piste! Enjoyed cracking some ice to facilitate the next accent, but the ice is more than a centimetre thick. The sun was shining and skies were blue and the birds were active, Woodpeckers, Tits, but no Crossbills. They are amongst the earliest nesters, which is unusual for a small bird.
